Why You'll Love It:
This organic coffee wows with flavors of sweet citrus and bold floral aromas. An exceptionally complex and delicate sweetness is achieved by this group of community-minded producers, reaching a new level of quality in Congolese coffee.
Story of the Bean:
The Muungano Cooperative recently celebrated 10 years as a producer organization dedicated to unifying local ethnic groups and to creating gender equality in the production of high-quality organic coffee. “Muungano” means “Togetherness” in the Swahili language and this fifty percent female cooperative has succeeded in delivering some of the most desired bourbon coffee in the region.
"A bright spot, if not a solid promise, from a region once thought too troubled, comes a coffee that defies expectations in every way. Not only does it sing in the cup, but it gives hope for peace, understanding, and more beautiful things to come." - Todd Carmichael, CEO & Co-Founder
